What is it: Compact 10x superzoom with 720p movie mode and manual controls
What we think: The H20's responsiveness, handling and image quality offset its lack of a wide-angle zoom

| Review summary | It's not the best superzoom on the market, simply because it doesn't go wide enough to be as flexible as its rivals, which offer 28mm-equivalent zooms or wider. The H20 delivers better quality at full zoom though, and has a great movie mode, so it's got to be worth a look for those reasons alone Read full review |
Panasonic's Lumix DMC-TZ7 is a better camera than the TZ6, so why have we given it a slightly lower score? Because, although the TZ7's movie mode is great, the AF and zoom need to be quicker. But hey, you're getting a top-quality, 12x super-wideangle superzoom and HD movies all in camera that fits in your pocket -- amazing Read full review |
A superzoom's a smart buy as long as you realise that you're not going to get quite the same handling and picture quality as you would from a digital SLR. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18 is great fun to use, and is an uncluttered and responsive dSLR-like interface giving access to a wealth of features. Just about everything is tweakable, while the giant zoom, accomplished lens and excellent image quality make this as much fun as it's possible to have without an dSLR Read full review |

Feels more expensive than it is, and its pictures are slightly better than usual for its class
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FP8
Not much to look at, but it's actually a very good ultra-compact camera for snapshooters
Samsung PL60
Stylish, practical and pleasing to use. Its pictures aren't bad either, so it's a good buy at this price
