Hello, I'm Rich Trenholm of CNET.co.uk, and this is the Nikon Coolpix S200.
The colourful S200 is a slender 7 megapixel compact with a 3x zoom. It's one of ten new additions to the Coolpix line-up, some of which are performance cameras, some of which are more stylish. This camera definitely falls into the style category. Each of the other cameras in Nikon's latest range has a unique selling point, like extended battery life, a big screen or wi-fi. So what's the S200's unique selling point? Er... it's really thin.
It measures barely 19mm thick, and weighs a meagre 130g. You can easily slide it into the slimmest of slim fit jeans, and once it's in your pocket your biggest problem may be telling it apart from your phone.
It's so slim there's only room for the standard 64mm LCD display, or 2.5 inches in old money, although with these fiddly little buttons you'd think Nikon could squeeze a couple of extra millimetres on the screen.
The S200 also features Nikon's Face-Priority auto focus. This finds and focuses on your subject's faces so faces should come out clear and sharp, but it sets the exposure for the overall scene rather than the face.
Performance isn't bad, although it's by no means the fastest compact in the world, especially in low light. It's capable if not amazing. The automatic white balance does a nice job of balancing colours in electric lighting, while it does well to reconcile flash with ambient light sources.
Ultimately, the S200 is a case of style over substance. You can go for this bewitching lipstick red version, or the ubiquitous silver or black. Its seductive, superslim metal body is by far it's best feature, partly because it looks great and partly because there aren't many other features in there. Thankfully its catwalk looks are available for high street prices, so the S200 is style on a budget.

The Coolpix S200 digital camera has many of Nikon's features: Face-Priority AF and automatic white balance. But while it looks pretty and will fit almost anywhere, it just doesn't take very good photos
