Typical price: £270
What is it: Rugged 12-megapixel compact camera
What we think: Looks good and is tougher than its predecessor, but its performance lags behind that of rivals

We like:
Shockproof up to 1m; 5x wideangle zoom range; high-definition movie mode
We don't like:
Poor lens performance; noisy image processing; over-reliant on menus
CNET UK judgement:

It's shockproof and waterproof to a greater depth than its predecessor, the Optio W60, but it's pretty pricy and the Olympus mju Tough-8000, Canon PowerShot D10 and Panasonic Lumix DMC-FT1 feel better made
