Wacky styling and classy colour scheme; 10m depth rating; very sharp fine detail
We don't like:
Limited zoom range; barrel distortion at minimum zoom; fat body doesn't make it any easier to grip

Canon's one of the latecomers to the emerging underwater-camera market, but the wait's been worth it, because the PowerShot D10 is very, very different. It adds a real splash of style to a sector populated by some pretty staid-looking cameras. The D10 could be scuppered, however, by its basic 3x zoom lens

If you're after a tough camera, you might want one that looks the part too. The Olympus mju Tough-8000 and Panasonic Lumix DMC-FT1 do the business, but they'd look equally at home in a cocktail bar as under the waves.
