We like:

Interchangeable lenses; comfortable to use; well constructed; excellent low-ISO photo quality; very nice 720p video; fast autofocus; 10x zoom kit lens; flip-and-twist LCD; mic input

We don't like:

Expensive; middling high-ISO sensitivity image quality; slow kit lens; EVF implementation makes burst shooting difficult

CNET UK judgement:

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH1 is fast and has great photo quality. It also supports video capture and delivers the most camcorder-like recording experience we've seen to date from a still camera. You'll have to empty your pockets, though

As the second entry to the company's G-series, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH1 debuted at PMA in March and we held our collective breath for its UK release. This video-snapping shooter looks and acts like a dSLR, even though technically it isn't: it has dSLR-like design, controls and interchangeable lenses, but with the optical viewfinder and certain elements of the mechanism removed it's much smaller and lighter.
