Typical price: £340
What is it: 10-megapixel dSLR with live view and built-in anti-shake
What we think: It may seem chunky and inelegant and first, but the A300 proves both practical and rather likeable

We like:
Straightforward live view; tilting LCD; great colour rendition
We don't like:
Plasticky feel; noisy AF; weak kit lens
