You can't argue with what the Olympus SP-570 UZ can do, only how well it does it. While it looks and feels a cut above the rest, its failings are typical of superzoom compacts in general, including sluggish responses, poor high ISO performance and lens softness at full zoom. It's good, but it's not great

The Olympus SP-570 UZ is an extremely promising superzoom, with the widest op tical zoom range of any compact camera at 20x, plus built-in image stabilisation, a 1cm macro mode, full manual controls and the ability to shoot at an incredible ISO 6,400. It looks like a camera that can do everything, and at a street price of around £250, it easily undercuts even the cheapest digital SLR. Continue Reading...
