Typical price: £140
What is it: 10-megapixel touchscreen camera with designer aspirations
What we think: Don't be fooled by its contemporary metal design: the heart of this disappointing camera is pure plastic

We like:
Movie star looks; colourful snaps and movies; price
We don't like:
Terrible LCD; finger-twisting touch menus; slow performance
CNET UK judgement:
The Kodak EasyShare V1073 is the best example we've seen for trying a camera before buying it online. Smouldering urban looks and rock-solid build quality aside, this Kodak is pain to use and delivers only average images. HD-style movies are better, but watch out for a sting in the tail -- that £70 HDTV dock
