What is it: 6-megapixel, 10x superzoom digital camera
What we think: Clean images and dSLR-like usability make this a bargain, even without image stabilisation

We like:
Wide, sharp lens; high ISO performance; zoom lens ring
We don't like:
Poor EVF; no optical image stabilisation
Also known as:
Fujifilm FinePix S6000fd
You might also need:
xD cards and AA batteries
CNET.co.uk judgement:
An excellent lens that's both wide and long, clean, sharp images, and impressive high ISO performance combine to make the Fujifilm FinePix S6500fd a very attractive package -- especially now the price has dropped so low. Top dSLR features balance out the usual horrible EVF, but optical image stabilisation is now sorely missed
