You don't need to pay very much this year to get a pretty good digital camera. Solid budget models are becoming less expensive and offering better performance -- the Canon PowerShot A470 is one of the best examples of this trend. With a price tag less than £100, and under £80 if you shop around online, it produces surprisingly good pictures.
