Typical price: £180
What is it: Ultra-slim 10-megapixel compact
What we think: Better than you'd expect from such a svelte snapper, thanks to a large screen and flexible features

We like:
Giant screen; video record button; handy sidebar; tweakable options; stick-thin
We don't like:
No image stabilisation; noise issues; some clunky controls

But as soon as we saw the giant screen, we suspected there was more than met the eye with this 10-megapixel point-and-shoot. Its available features are flexible enough to get around some image quality concerns, while the video record button will keep the YouTubers happy

The Casio Exilim EX-S10 -- in spite of the name -- is one of the thinnest compact cameras we've ever seen, without compromising on screen size or features, as well as making good on YouTube mode
