Typical price: £1,000
What is it: Semi-professional digital SLR camera with 8.2-megapixel sensor and 64mm LCD
What we think: The EOS 30D should definitely be on your semipro dSLR shortlist

We like:
Excellent low-light performance; fast and responsive; straightforward controls; nice balance of features for both experienced and rookie photographers
We don't like:
Pop-up flash casts shadow with some lenses; viewfinder provides only 95 per cent view; average battery life; 1.6x lens-conversion factor
CNET UK judgement:
The 8-megapixel Canon EOS 30D should definitely be on your shortlist if you're thinking about buying a semipro dSLR camera

In this piece, we mainly address the enhancements that differentiate the 30D.) Continue Reading...
Canon EOS 30D History
3 Mar 2006 in Digital Living
The EOS 30D has a bigger screen than the EOS 20D, along with spot metering and more durable shutter mechanism -- but the sensor resolution hasn't been increased. Is 8.2 megapixels enough for you, or will you be looking for more?
