Good: Compact size, excellent features, full HD video stereo, panorama, superior auto, wide open capability and face detection timer
Bad: Battery life, poor documentation.
Comment: Buy an extra battery and have fun !!

Good: sweet compact, build quality, screen, controls, HD video, pro stick and SDHC cards
Bad: So compact, some may find it difficult to hold
Comment: Absolutely love this camera. Chose the WX5 over the HX5V with its 10x zoom. The WX5 is smaller, better in low light, has a better res screen and in my view the controls feel nicer to use. For a compact camera the image quality is pretty good. Full HD movie an advantage.
Not sure I'm ever going to have much need for the 3D mode, but I'm sure someone out there will. The screen is excellent, menu's okay once you get used to them. Had a choice of black, silver, brown or, if memory serves, pink/purple> Went for the brown, which is nicer than you would think, and is more of a copper really. If you are considering this colour then I suggest you get to view one in the flesh first, Some may not like it.
The WX5 doesn't come with the gps for geo tagging. But for me that's something I didn't want anyway. From what I have read about cameras with this feature its a drain on battery power. On the subject of the battery. I have yet to put it to a proper test. It might be wise to purchase a spare if you can find one for a reasonable price. But thats the same for most cameras.
Overall this is exactly what it's meant to be. A sweet little compact with a reasonable zoom, HD video recording, and the ability to take pictures in really low light without having to use the flash. Possibly it's best feature in my opinion and one that gives surprising results. Just love the WX5.
