Good: Video

Bad: Cannot take low light pictures with flash

Comment: I have had a tz5, tz7 and a tz10, when compared with either of these in low light situations the tz20 is rubbish. It is really upsetting after having 3 previous tz's to end up with such a poor quality (picture wise) camera. I'm looking at other makes in order to change. NO help from Panasonic with my problem

Good: Compact, Long zoom.

Bad: Very poor image quality

Comment: I have owned this camera for a while now. Some of the images obtained from the camera are very poor indeed and much worse than the TZ10 I used to have. It is only to be used in good light conditions - whilst that may be true of many compacts, this one is particularly bad. Thankfully, the TZ30 is a big improvement.

I am currently looking to change my camera again.

Good: good advertisement

Bad: poor panasonic service

Comment: please review the products not only camera and its feauters, also include the accessories supplied along with the camera.

dec 2011 , myself purchased this camera from netherlands, and only 3 sample pictures were made there, received the camera in india during feb 2012 charged the battery once and made around 100 photos and few videos, the battery drained.

when i connect the charger for charging the battery 2nd time only, the charger failed to work, supply volts are not the problem, because the chrger supplied with another Sony camera purchased from netherland in the same time is is working well in india, more over myself being a service engineer of textile machinery in a europian MNC knows all these basics.

Now i am unable to charge the battery, and so unable to use the camera and purpose of puchaseing the new camera was not served, force to use my old Sony camera for my regular use.

Panasonic USA and Uk responded for my complaint eventhough they are not involved where as mails to other panasonic mail ids bounced back. Based on Forwarding from USA panasonic some calls received from panasonic india given some service center address in india to the nearest city Pune, where the service people expressed unability to repair or replace.

From panasonic no steps or follow ups noticed. Our electrical engineers may be corrected the problem but the charger is sealed and use and thro.china make.

If a fool proof system sealed then it is acceptable. Here a new product failling at the second time useage was found sealed.

The original charger cost ~ 20 to 25 euro in amazon.de, my mind is not accepting to spend this against a newly purchased one and what is the sureity for working when the earlier one fails during its second time use.

panasonic site not having any mail ids to inform such problems .

If anybody guided how and to whom i have to contact in panasonic japan(the camera made in japan and myself insisted while bying since my Minolta japan camera working more than 15 years, even today).
i would be thankful.

Good: It looks nice.

Bad: It does not download videos.

Comment: Any video's will not download onto my pc. When I ask for advice they charge you £21. I bought the camera because of the quality of pics on my daughters camera but neither of us can download videos onto our computers. Be warned, if you have children/grandchildren and you want to film them then dont buy this camera.

Good: Pretty much everything.

Bad: Loses points for the crappy battery.

Comment: If you don't like the camera don't have it. It's as simple as that. I just cant seem to figure out how to tell if it's charging haha!

Good: Fits into same case as TZ-7 and TZ-10

Bad: Everything else, particularly the image quality

Comment: I recently has cause to try out one of these that a friend had bought. I gave it a go to see if my initial one was somehow faulty. Oh no. The camera is just pants.

I can't honestly believe someone would have rated this 4-5 stars unless they have never used another camera. I have genuinely had much better quality photos from my phone.

I don't expect DSLR quality from a camera with a sensor smaller than my fingernail. Where this falls down is that the image quality is far worse than the cameras that preceded it (the TZ-7 and TZ-10). Panasonic has no shame in selling this as their top of the range travel compact - it isn't worth £100 let alone the £300 odd it cost at launch...

I hope for Panasonic's sake it gets hold of a decent sensor for next years model.

Good: compact, nice images, good functionality

Bad: the battery - aargh.

Comment: some of the comments on here are ridiculous : why whinge about image quality ?
If you want DSLR quality : buy a bloody DSLR.
I just paid £242 minus £30 cash back from Panasonic. That'll do nicely compared to an entry level DSLR (plus lenses) that I don't really want to carry around for 3 weeks on holiday.

Picture quality is very good compared to a 'bridge' camera I bought - which was only £60 cheaper than the TZ20. ignore the camera snobs : it's a lovely piece of kit.
