Good: Its an update on an already competitive camera
Bad: Initially expensive than the LX3 @ 50800yen
Comment: Poor review from CNET.
They don't tell you that they based their review on a pre-production unit, and since their posting, Panasonic global has posted information regarding adjustment to the flash intensity within a range of ±EV 2 in 1/3 EV steps, too. The reviewer also quite clearly does not understand how the aspect ratio adjustment works on the LX3 and LX5. Its not a simple crop to the upper and lower parts of the image, but tries to make full use of the circular sensor. Its not a big deal, but you expect less errors in professional online publication. Later there is some contradiction between powerful, fully featured with lots of options but lack versatility...
Additionally I also imagine that the closest competition is really the Samsung TL500/EX1, whilst physically it sits between the Canon S90 and the Canon G11. I guess it will be a very close run between these models and you would expect the Rating to reflect this.
I hope that they manage to fix the errors once they update their review. Perhaps when the production units arrive they will have a better idea of the build quality. The Devil is in the details, and CNET is often a good source of information.

Good: I have the LX2 - decided the LX3 was not a big enough development and now the LX5 is approaching the GF1 in size, will probably go for that
Bad: Nothing - If I was buying a compact it'd be my #1 choce
Comment: The LX2 has flash adjustment - it's buried deep in the Exposure Adjustment button (top of the D-pad) and toggle through to Flash menu, et voila!
