Good: It is the best "Take Anywhere" camera on the market at a reasonable price
Bad: Battery life could be better.
Comment: I bought this little gem in HK about 15 months ago and it has been all round the world with me in all kinds of climatic conditions, from
-10C to 42C, above water mostly, but occasionally in the sea and also my swimming pool here in Brazil. I paid roughly GBP100 with a 32GB card, a leather case and a float attachment to stop it sinking!!
I have looked at many reviews on this camera, and it's a real mixed bag of lovers and haters. But reading between the lines, and looking at some dreadful pics that have been posted, I can only surmise that a good many owners know very little about photography and maybe even less about the Lumix FT20. Properly set up this camera is capable of producing stunning pics in difficult conditions that are comparable with my Leica X1 and Nikon P7100 - but neither of those chaps are much use in snow, mud or water....
Of course there are some compromises as CNET's pixel peeping reviewer discovered - but frankly I have never noticed the problems he pointed out in the 17000 shots and 8hrs of video I have taken. I wonder if he had a dud as my videos are ten times better in clarity and colour balance - though the mic is a bit crap, I must say.
Good: Rugged, Shock proof, 16mp camera, image stabilization, Good for vacation pics
Bad: Not having incamera charging
Comment: Rugged camera for amateur pics, I am happy owning this. Well serves the purpose, even my kid is using it
