Bad: Where do I start?
Comment: Having taken the V8 Vantage for the weekend with a view to purchase, I'm left with the wise words 'Never meet your hero' ringing in my ears. What a disappointment.... at the end of which, I was delighted to reclaim my M5. Undoubtedly, the Aston Martin is a thing of beauty to behold. And for the motoring heritage, I was prepared to overlook the squeaks and rattles. I was also prepared for the contortionist requirements of entry and exit that go with being 6'6". I was NOT prepared, however, for the Ford Fiesta switchgear OR the complete lack of thrust. For the exponents of this model, I can only assume that for them, looking good is the ultimate goal. I also assume that those who claim not to pull away from the lights in response to challenge from the boy-racer next to them, do not do so due to the fact that they know full well they'd get a caning! I know, I know...it's pathetic to take them on. But in an M5, you don't do it because it's sensible not to. In the Vantage, you don't do it beacause you'd lose. If you're thinking of getting one...don't. Buy a BMW. You'll feel better.
Good: I can't stop smiling, every time I drive it.
Bad: I look like an idiot, smiling all the time.
Comment: Had the V8 and upgraded to the V12. The V8 was a lovely car. This thing is beautiful, but bestial in comparison. The acceleration, the noise, the grip and then there's the sport button! An awesome drive, it's the dirty little secret of the Aston family.
Comment: Maths was never my strong point but: "As a result, the company's chucked in an engine with eight more cylinders." It was a V8 before, right? So now it's a V16?
Bad: The sat nav/audio knobs/buttons
Comment: There's no logic to them and to opt to use the iPhone GPS, because the sat nav set up is so frustrating, is laughable, given how inaccurate the iPhone can be.
That said, who needs audio with that engine?! ;)
