Good: Very good video image quality, also stills are great.
Bad: The high speed video I don't use, Laser touch, should have been touch screen.
Comment: I have just purchased this camcorder, for £249.99, a big jump from the £900 reviewed price. Having read many reviews, including cnets, I still went ahead and grabbed one.
I'll never use the high-speed video option, this gimick didn't put me off as I was more interested in the Full HD side of things.
Having tested the HD video, I can confirm the quality is amazing. Several videos were shot, under varying conditions, then played back on a Samsung 42" TV, I was blown away by the detail, clarity and colours, although the GZ-X900 records in 1080i, playback on a big screen is 1080p, no interlacing problems at all.
The camera stills at 9M are very good for a camcorder, easily matching a similar spec digital camera.
My test video footage was easily burned onto a BluRay disk and played perfectly on my Samsung player and TV.
Yes the Laser slider thingy takes a little getting used to, but I can live with this niggle.
