Good: frozen images of clip
Bad: jerky and shaky video, unnatural colors
Comment: Hi . I bought this video cam some two months ago. I was horrified at my first video clip as jerks and shaking was heavy. No hope to shoot decent clips with this camera. Matter of fact, shaking is heavy even when camera is mounted still upon a tripod. Used a poorman´s steadycam but no improvement was found. The reason for this incredible shaking of the image is not due to improper handling but to some crazy feature inside the camera maybe mechanic or maybe software , that triggers this very nuisance. I suspect heavily upon de H.264 codec. I bet that that this codec will soon have a very bad name...This codec renders much of the image erasing details. The image in movement produces giddiness as is impossible to focus it with bare eye This generates great unconformity too. However when freezing the video, it is possible to view the scene which shows with some detail in spite of this funny rendering that i mentioned earlier. The feature that appears as EIS does not work. My old analog SONY HI8 has an EIS ( electronic image stabilizer) called steady shot, and is infinitely superior; so this important video i must soon shoot will be done with my old SONY handycam. Also colors are altered to some surreal level. All the clips I made with it did not receive a good report, so now i ceased to use this artifact.
I have a cheap digital camera ( cost me some USD $ 60.- ) that shoots video and this video is inmensely superior this Genius invention.
I´ll try to give my GENIUS G SHOT HD 520 to some kid or poor individual . This Chinese camera is also sold as WERLISA http://www.ciao.es/Werlisa_DV_570_HD__1353893
Definitely not recommended unless you want to throw your money and time away. No decent video can be shot with this camera. Time caught up with me and my next buy will sure be some USD $ 1000 HD SONY corder.
