Good: 35x optical zoom, DV input, megapixel

Bad: Extreme motor noise

Comment: I will make this short and painless.
The motor noise on this camera is so loud that it will ruin every movie you tape. Avoid this bad product.

I won't even write about the picture quality since it really does not matter when the sound is utterly useless.

Do a search for "motor noise canon zr850" (zr850=md160)
or "motor noise canon md160"

Good: Compact, light, good pictures

Bad: Motor noise

Comment: Good little camcorder but the high pitched motor noise is totally unacceptable. I made a three-minute trial video, then sent it back. I'm surprised that CNET's excellent reviews did not highlight this problem.
