Like its cousin, the flash-based HF11, Canon's Vixia HG20 delivers excellent HD video quality and performance albeit in a slightly larger, heavier package. But you do get more storage space at a lower price, which we think makes it entirely worth it

The Canon HG20 is an excellent HD camcorder that's reasonably easy to operate out of the box and looks good, too. Instead of recording to internal flash memory like the company's almost identical HF11 camcorder, the HG20 records to a hard drive. And as for performance, it's as good if not better than the Sony Handycam HDR-SR11, so it comes down to a preference for flash memory or hard-disk drive as your storage medium of choice.
