Sony BDV-E370 review
The Sony BDV-E370 is not a bad piece of kit if you can get it for closer to £300 than £500. 3D is a great bonus and we did like most of the features of this home cinema system. Sound wasn't perfect but, for smaller rooms, it's pretty reasonable. Read more

Samsung HT-D6750W review
Samsung has loaded up its HT-D6750W home-cinema kit with everything bar the kitchen sink. If you want a 3D Blu-ray player, Web connectivity and a sound system that hasn't been beaten with the ugly stick, you should definitely take a closer look. Read more

JVC DD-3 Sophisti review
A stylish home-cinema unit that employs virtual-surround sound, the JVC DD-3 Sophisti forgoes the need for rear speakers -- and the wires that go with them. With an upscaling HDMI DVD player, this is ideal for anyone looking for an unobtrusive way to boost their movie audio Read more

Panasonic SC-PT870 review
It doesn't look like anyone at Panasonic HQ had much fun designing the SC-PT870 but it's a good 5.1-channel home-cinema system nevertheless. Music played via the USB socket isn't much cop, but the system performs admirably otherwise, delivering particularly impressive sound with movies Read more

Denon S-101 review
Denon has a long tradition of high-end products and the S-101 isn't going to damage its stellar reputation. This 2.1 DVD system has speakers and features -- such as iPod integration -- that are good enough to merit the extra investment Read more

Yamaha YSP-2200 review
The Yamaha YSP-2200 is one of the slimmest soundbars yet. It's an ingenious all-in-one home-cinema system for those without the space for separates or multiple speakers. While the subwoofer is rather unrefined, the YSP-2200's sonic clarity and surround-sound steering is excellent. Read more

Pioneer LX01BD review
If you can afford it, the LX01BD Blu-ray player with surround-sound speaker system will prove well worth your cash. Disc load times are excruciatingly slow but it's a beautiful and cleverly designed package that offers fantastic picture and sound quality, with great audio-codec support Read more

Pioneer DCS-360 review
Compared to other systems available for around £300, Pioneer's DCS-360 is an outstanding example. You get a more generous speaker package featuring floor-standing speakers and it's one of the few budget systems that can claim HDMI connectivity, which allows you to play near high-definition quality 720p or 1080i pictures Read more

Sharp HTSB200 review
For those who are short on space but still want to boost the audio quality of their flat-screen TV, the long and slim HTSB200 2.1-channel surround-sound speaker bar is a decent option. Its performance at high volumes isn't great, but, at normal volumes, it adds a significant amount of oomph Read more
