Google Latitude is just the beginning
Yesterday Google announced Google Latitude, a location-based social app that lets you see where your friends are and vice versa. It's available to download on a variety of mobiles, including BlackBerrys, S60 handsets and Windows Mobile phones. As a concept, it's very simple -- but this is the beginning of something huge. Don't copy, make a fork
Could everyone please stop making touchscreen phones? Recently I reviewed the Samsung F490, an iPhone lookalike that falls short when it comes to the touchscreen and software interface. Project SociaLim
Why has social networking taken off online? Why do we need an Internet for it? Why can't it be transferred to the 'real world', where you really meet people? Digital insulation: BT was right, it is good to talk
The modern office might seem like an oasis of serenity, but many workers are chuckling away to themselves without even opening their mouths. The gentle clatter of keyboards and clicks of mice aren't purely the by-product of work, it's the hum of feverish online chatting that's quickly replacing the 'water cooler moments' employees used to treasure.
