ATI Radeon HD 3850
ATI's new 256MB Radeon HD 3850 is a midrange graphics card worth its silicon. This card is the best-performing 3D card in its price class. It will let you play most current 3D games at reasonable resolutions and detail settings, and offers a truly viable midrange gaming experience

Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX
The GeForce 8800 GTX is the most powerful graphics card on the market, and the first to support all of the 3D gaming-related features of Windows Vista and DirectX 10. It's also decent value -- it's cheaper than ATI's fastest dual-card combination and outperforms them, too

Asus EN7600GT
Asus's EN7600GT is the first graphics card we've seen that has an HDMI port with HDCP (high-bandwidth digital content protection). As a result it will let you watch copy-protected Blu-ray or HD DVD movies, plus it's fully compatible with the forthcoming Windows Vista operating system

Nvidia GeForce 7950 GX2
The 7950 GX2 gives you the same 3D gaming performance as you would get from two GeForce 7900 GTX cards at half the cost. And because Nvidia has crammed two graphics processors onto a single card, you lose only half as much interior desktop real estate. But in just six months the card will be a generation behind, with the advent of DirectX 10

ATI Radeon X1800 XT (512MB)
The Radeon X1800 XT is a powerful Direct3D gaming tool, it doesn't hold up in design elegance or dual-card flexibility when compared with Nvidia's competing GeForce 7800 GTX cards. Its saving grace is its Half-Life 2 performance: it dominates Nvidia. If you're more inclined to Doom 3, however, its scores are lacking

ATI All-In-Wonder X800 XL (256MB)
The All-In-Wonder X800 XL is the latest multifunction card from ATI. If you're looking for the best possible TV image quality, you'll need to go with a dedicated TV tuner card, sych as the ATI TV Wonder Elite, but with the X800 XL's excellent 3D performance, the All-In-Wonder is a good choice if you're looking for a one-card solution
