"Almost, but not quite"
What I like:
the concept is brilliantly portable and simple to use
What I don't like:
doesn't play as well as I hoped
Review:
My girlfriend gave me this for my birthday and I was very pleased. It's very light and easy to use so I didn't for a moment expect it to perform like a Technics!
In use I found a few hardly played records that it jumped and skipped on. They played ok on another light record deck and if jumping on this one I could compensate using 1p coins. The Ion record deck has no counterweight and is too light to try to compensate by using coins which affect the speed.
The other item to draw your attention to in the instructions is their suggestion for high speed recording using Audacity. In practice the resulting sound quality is worse than tape so not worth bothering with.
In summary it is a fun toy and very easy to use (even works with Linux). If it hadn't skipped on some of my records I would have kept it. To me the idea of having an archiving record player that can't play all your records it pointless.
I have seen many good reviews for this products so don't let mine put you off completely as it may be everything you want.

Fine for the price, but we have concerns about their durability, and their bass can be overpowering

Our favourite ebook reader so far, despite lacking much of the functionality found in competing devices

Capable, and a good choice for students, but it's more expensive than rivals and the glossy screen is horrible
